Tom, I certainly do. We put a grouping of trees in a file type box with styrofoam mounted in the bottom. I then glue each tree to the foam. We then pack the rest of the box with typical peanuts. You can purchase smallish trees without a wood trunk for as little as $3.50 to a large tree with wooden trunk for about $10. For large trees the size of the box will dictate the height.
When I first started making them, I ran into a size dilemma. A mature conifer tree, especially first growth might be one hundred feet in height (or two PRS 50' cars as an easy scale). Now if you check the scale of such a tree against your layout's mountains, it makes the mountain look pretty small! On the other hand, if you use small trees (maybe 3") it will look like a Christmas tree farm. Most of my trees range from young ones, about 3", to about 9".
