All,

I actually assembled a plastic KIT on Sunday! Egads! I really don't remember
the last time I assembled a plastic kit. It truly could be 10 years+.

I bought a RTR HiRail Des Plaines tank car at the convention for a bargain
price. There was 2 and I should have bought that one too, but did not. I
scrounged some wheels and body mounted the couplers easy & DONE. I went to put
it on my shelf when I found a DHP tank car KIT. YIKES! I don't remember when
and where, but it was probably an eBay win in the past year or so.

I know I am late to the party here but just discovered there are detail
differences between the Hi rail and Scale versions, at least for the Scale kit
version. I don't have a scale RTR - yet. The scale car has more parts included.
There was some issue with the fit if the preformed handrails that seemed to be
resolved on the RTR car. Other then that is is a great easy to assemble tank
car for the transition era. Both are now done and residing with the brass tank
car string on my layout.

Finally, the RTR car was missing a stirrup step. There are no extras in the
kit, but if by some strange chance you have an extra one I could use it.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
