Any latex paint will do fine for sealing Homosote. While painting there may be some warping so be prepared to clamp it down while it dries. You may be able to go to Home Depot etc and get a 5 gallon bucket. Just make sure you like the color because it will probably be a while until it is completely covered with scenery!
