Minnesota gents --
Some of you have been to my mighty NYW&B, and you know how I managed the
layout-vs-workbench conundrum. My layout is high enough (average 58" from
floor
to railhead) for me to have installed a workbench in a corner beneath a
sweeping
curve. I sit on a cushioned stool. There is a low-profile fluorescent lamp
attached to the bottom of my benchwork, and the shallow fascia at the front of
the layout is cushioned with peel-and-stick foam pipe insulation to protect my
bald pate if I forget where I amand stand up too quickly.
This arrangement has worked very well for me for the past ten years or so. I
highly recommend a high layout! (I understand that you guys have actually
raised a member's existing layout, so you know how to do it...)
