All,

I have had reference to a ballast possibility at the bottom of my page for 3
years now. http://lanestrains.com/S_Scale_Modules3.htm

Almost any shopping store has a formed and highly polished aggregate floor. The
granules are loose and put in place with an epoxy binder then polished.

I lucked out because where I was working at the time was having floor work
done. I had a moment of "I can't believe it" when I saw the material used. It
is completely consistent in color and size throughout, and is some kind of real
rock. I bought a 50 pound bag for $25.00. The "lucked out" part was I got free
delivery to about 20 minutes from my house. It arrived with the job materials.
Being the purchasing agent had *some* benefits. But the place is closed now!
So the problem with a 50 pound bag is, well its FIFTY pounds! Shipping costs
could be pricey. Still it has to be better then buying in the small quantity
boxes form a hobby shop.....

I alerted the sales manager to this alternative use, but it was lost on him. He
did not want to pursue it.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
