We were more than happy to make the few S scale cars for the NMRA.
I would explain to the NMRA project manager, that non-prototype cars
did not always do that well as S scale convention cars. We were able
to lower the minimums as general manager of our builde was also an
NMRA member. But expecting S gaugers to purchase NMRA S scale cars of
famous HO railroads was a stretch. I think this is why they had extra
cars from these very small runs, that would be the main reason.
