Hi Guys: Some months ago I decided it was time to get the Western New York and Southern Ontario S-scalers together for a social gathering like we used to do in the old days. I have rented a nearby hall, set up the food and spread the word.
On Sunday, October 17th we'll be having the Can-Am S-Scale social at the Lowbanks community hall (lowbankslive.com)on the north shore of Lake Erie about 40 miles west of Buffalo. Bud Rindfleisch is my NY contact and he's spreading the word as far east as Rochester. This is not a big, formal trainshow...more like a meeting place for friends to gather for a few hours. We will have some FreeMo modules from the S Scale Workshop up and running and there'll be tablespace for S-scale items for show, sell or swap. Hours are 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The 6 dollar admission fee will get each visitor a lunch of soup, sandwich, desert and tea or coffee. It looks like we'll have enough people for a fun time, but I thought I should mention it here to widen the invitation. I don't serously expect folks from Eastern New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio or Michigan to came all this way for this single small event, but I'm suggesting you might want to include it as part of a holiday weekend to Southern Ontario. The autumn colors will be at their max, Ridgehill Hobbies (exclusively S scale), The huge Aberfoyle Junction O scale layout, the Halton Radial Museum (trolleys) and the Toronto Roundhouse Museum, to name just a few attractions, are all within 1 - 2 hours of our meeting site. If any of you wants more info, you can contact me directly. Thanks Jim Martin [email protected] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
