Subject: {S-Scale List} Looking for American Models Caboose Trucks

        Hi All,

I am in need of a pair of American Models "Caboose, Bettendorf, Scale

trucks", part #827S (the last character is an "ess" not a five, I guess

it indicates "scale"). The trucks list for $6.50 on the A.M. web site,

but they charge $8.50 for shipping. So the pair would cost me $15. Not a

big deal, except for the principle, of course, however...

...I contacted my local hobby shop to see if they could get a better

deal for me (none of our shops carry "S"). The owner contacted A.M. and

was quoted the same price. However, the person at the A.M. side of the

phone was apparently very rude and said that my order wasn't worth their

effort. Maybe the A.M. person was just having a rough day, but still...

I have my own business and I would never treat a customer or potential

customer that way!

So, my question is, does anyone have a pair of those trucks that you are

willing to sell to me for less than $15 including shipping? (personal or

business)

As an aside, Walthers doesn't carry American Models, I noticed, which

means there is no Walthers number for the part, which means finding the

item elsewhere on the Internet is difficult. Being new to "S", I don't

know if there is some history there. They do seem to carry SHS' products.

Thank you,

  - Peter.
