Ed, It sounds like you may have a GP 9 with the hi rail gears with scale 
wheels. Get the slow gears from AM with scale wheels and might solve your 
problem. other wise change motors to a can motor, Sagami, NWSL, or a Maxon. I 
have had to do that on almost all AM locos. Thanks Bert Cutler

      Hi,



I have an American Models GP9 (S scale) that runs at seemly close to top speed 

with the throttle at less than half power. I've tried to adjust CV02,CV06 and 

CV05 according to the Digitrax manual but I can't slow the engine down. As soon 

as I open the throttle, the engine starts and speeds up like a toy engine as 
the 

throttle increases. Any suggestions on how to change the CVS or otherwise slow 

this engine down?
