Jace,

Previous to the 2-8-0, the SHS sales were LARGELY hi rail. But until that
point it pretty much did not matter because all wheels were included. Now
that the 2-8-0 is here when you consider the MANY paint schemes, electronic
options and throw in the minor thing about scale or hi rail wheels, the
stocking combinations become immense. How do you forecast sales for this and
order for your stock with a 3-6 month lead time? How do you order and in
what combinations because that is what you are going to sell? I would not
want to have to make such decisions. Further Don told me once the Tsunami
got "out on the road" the sales for scale versions increased greatly at
which time hi rail versions in production were changed to scale at an up
charge to him.

If I misstated something here, I am sure Don will reply and correct me, but
I am pretty sure I am mostly correct here.

Lots of things about trains are much fun. Making trains is not one of them.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
