Haha, That brings back old painful memories of working on those old
unreliable cars .
Been a long time but IIRC there's a pull handle under the dash that locks it
out of over drive, push that in and then get up to speed and let up on the gas
and it should go into over drive. I think there is a kick down button on the
floor under the gas pedal to make it go back to regular high gear.
I do miss the floor mounted headlight dimmer switches and the cowl fresh air
intakes on old detroit iron.....dave
