Before this goes too far, I should mention that I don't own a 1956 Ford. I was 
using that as a hyperbole to emphasize that I am even more electronically 
challenged than a dumb computer that can't count past 1 
(0-1-0-1-0-0-0-1-1-0-Duh!)

I think the "tranny valve" you're talking about was the modulator valve on 
automatic transmissions, that worked so well that somebody had to "fix" it so 
we couldn't fix it ourselves if it did fail. I don't know if Overdrives had one 
or not.

Back to 1956 Fords, I'll take a Mainline Special, medium blue with a white 
stripe on the rear fenders and a white roof, six cylinder with Overdrive 
transmission, 12-volt DC, please.
