Once in the late 60's I had the occasion to have to stop on
I 95 in lower Connecticut. The highway at that point runs next
to the New Haven's mainline, then Conrail. Standing there I was
suddenly surprised by the woo-sh of a train passing at 70 to 80
mph. Turning around I saw a black GG 1 rushing by. Absolutely
silent except for that woo-sh !
