Pretty much 100% true. I have a copy of the letter SHS received, I did
their NTTM presentation on Oct 13.
Dealerships can NO longer buy below retail from SHS.
Dealers DO HAVE stock on hand FOR SALE, ask me/them what I/they have.
MOST of the smaller players in model/scale/toytrains ( 60 in total ) were
affected by the June 14th letter from Sandha Khan, now owned by KADER, the
longtime owners of BACHMANN.
NO orders placed after June 14 would be accepted/honored, all orders in the
pipeline will be filled at some date. For instance, SHS Christmas cars
will ship AFTER Christmas under the current schedule.
The story is ( colloquially ) that Sandha Khan, under the ownership of U S
giant J P Morgan-Chase, suffered tremendously, losing large a amount of its
value and ability to produce product. JPM-C then sold it to KADER, who
IS trying to rebuild the company.
There ARE other Chinese manufacturers who COULD make trains, the time
required to sort it all out could be over two yrs easily. There ARE many
companies in the US who could make trains, NOT for 26 cents an hour tho.
I am NOT a principal in ANY of the 60 companies, my WARDIE-JAY products are
made in Lancaster County, PENNSYLVANIA, USA.

Subj: {S-Scale List} SHS

Last night on the S-Trains chat we were told that SHS has cancelled their
dealerships with the following statements on chat.

"Did any of you know that dealershipe with SHS had been cancelled?"

"October 13 was the last day for dealers to order anything."

"They need to be able to sell retail to he public with their remaining
stock It may be 2 years before anything new can be shipped."

"Yes, there is no current manufacturer of S except for pre ordered stuff
that is in production."

"All the small "manufacturers" (SHS) eg. are out of luck."

This is what was posted. Anybody know how true this is?
