That's because they know if they mess with Dick Karnes, they may get a visit from the knuckle-popping Price Line Negotiator :<).
Actually, the little Sony I bought for my wife has no aperture or shutter speed settings at all. It adjusts everything automatically according to the circumstances, which works fine for her. There is wide angle/telephoto setting on it, and it will shoot video. My first "serious" digital camera was a Fuji S5200. It only went up to F8 for aperture, but the biggest shortcoming was no flash shoe. It did take magnificent photos though. My next camera was a Fuji S9000 with a minimum aperture of F11, and had it stopped down to F16 or, better yet, F22, it would be my camera of choice today. In fact, due to the fact it has a permanent mount zoom lense, it IS my camera of choice in less-than-ideal conditions that do not require critical aperture settings, and with no visible loss of quality compared to my Fuji S3 which shoots @12MP. When I bought the S3, I also bought a Tamron 18-250 zoom lense that stops down to F22. It more or less stays on the camera permanently to lessen the chance of dust getting on the photo sensor. Since it has a Nikon mount, I have dabbled with digitizing slides by mounting an old Prinz slide duplicator on it. Interesting, I accidentally did a recent photo shoot with the S3 set at 3MP. I don't know how the camera setting got changed. I told the magazine what had happened, but they said to send them in anyway. The photos must have been acceptable, because I got paid.
