I thought that is what happen to the first scenic passenger ride for this RR.
Did not know they did some freight. yes, they had problems with the downtown yard, as the new people told me they think they will have things worked out with Belfast, so they can came back into town. It lasted a long time until lack of business and the typical greedy developers and Chamber of Commerce types wanted the downtown land. So much for historical preservation.. I'm sort of pejudiced. One of our goals was to do some bike riding in Machais, Maine, but however, we did not since it was a bit rainy. We did ride that part of the Sunrise trail, last year, as it is 82 miles long. We came across a old blueberry warehouse with two permanent refrigerator train cars still attached. We did ride the trail in Ellsworth, just wonderful, as we did ride on the Downeast Scenic RR and the Belfast and Moosehead Lake RR, both made up names. We rode in the copula of the caboose with working pot belly store on the Belfast ride. However, on the way up on US 1, we saw this "garden" RR and did stop on the way back to Acadia to get pictures, as we met George Brace, the son of the man who made the miniature RR. The first website is a newsletter about the passing of his Dad, who was a math professor at U of MD and made the live steam RR that runs in Baltimore. the second website is about the RR. The third is a video of the RR, as the building on the RR houses his pet sheep. The bench says Beltsville for Beltsville MD. The track is all hand made, as George told us once a delivery truck ran over it!!! George wants me to email him about American Flyer, as he is not familiar with Lionel and AF, as he had real trains as a kid.
