Sat and Sun Nov 13th and 14th California Southern Model Railroad Club Fall
Open House Noon to 6pm

The New California Southern layout is a "mushroom" design, with the upper level
reverse of the lower level. This was determined by the membership as the way
to make the best use of the 24' by 73' area. Once completed, it will give a
500' run (one way) of linear travel. 90% of the track work is operational on
the lower level. The mainline, Malin Yard, and industries at Malabar, 9th
Street, Hadley, and Spadra are wired and working. Scenery has been applied from
Winchester to Esperanza. The lower level is the urban/industrial portion of the
railroad, and is expected to take the longest to complete. The upper has been
started now that many areas of the lower level are completed. The club meets
every Tuesday evening between 6:00 and 9:00 PM, the public is always welcome.
Layout construction may go on, but trains usually still operate. On Fridays
there is an impromptu get together from 6:00pm to 10:30pm where members
primarily run trains and just shoot the breeze.
