The PVMR crew (some of us, anyway) ventured away from "scale" railroading
to "GAUGE" railroading this past Monday. Jeff had to move his crossbucks
and flasher, so Glenn, Ray, and I joined him to lend a hand. Unbeknownst
to Glenn & Ray, Jeff had a train ride up his sleeve as "payment" for their
help. Jeff is a frequent engineer, gandy dancer, leaf remover, etc on our
good friends 12" gauge RR, the CONESTOGA & NORTHERN RR, "The RIVER CORNER
Line".

The red Jeep is powered by a 20 HP John Deere air cooled diesel, the
"covered wagon" is powered by a 40 HP water cooled Kubota diesel. Hills are
obviously NOT a big issue. The run is a 1 mile round trip and lots of fun
anytime of year. The steamer, brought out on "special occasions" is a coal
fired 4-4-0 "American" , recently completely rebuilt in a local RR backshop
and the backshop at Grasselville. The wheels start to turn (w/o load) at
about 9 PSI ( air) on the test bench. Seen it, done it.

Now, we're back to building a portable display layout for Christmas.
