well. Put 100 tons in it and see what happens. I am not familiar with

ratings on the S Scale America Coal Porter car.

I seem to remember that the weight limit was just not the strength of  
the hopper structure, but also depended on the size of bearings in the  
trucks - the bigger the bearings the higher the carrying capacity.

However sticking 100t trucks under a 55t hopper car would not always  
work - the hopper had to have the volume for such a load. Then of  
course the track had to be able to support the weight. Wouldn't want  
hoppers used to PRR 155 lb rail turning over puny rail on the NYC!  :-)
