Dear Ed
As I noted a week or two ago, I came to the realization that I have quickly
accumulated most of what I need in S scale to build a smallish
switching/branch/shortline operation when I retire in less than two years. A
good thirty-five years ago when I decided to leave HO for O scale, it was with
the thought I'd have fewer but nicer locomotives and cars. Well, the O scale
just keeps growing after all this time, so I
am trying to keep a handle on my other subsidiary interests, such as traction,
On2, On3 (managed to keep out of that for a good thirty years but finally fell
off the wagon), and British prototype. And S.

I am not so foolish as to take the pledge not to buy any more S scale--a
promise I almost certainly couldn't keep--just that I can now taper off
on more stuff.
