I uploaded a TON of pictures on the layout, as the link above is for the last
picture, which is the Zippy comic that featured my painted Frosty Bar last
11-04-09. You can see my tip to me in the last panel.

Zippy is a strange comic, but he loves to visit diners, roadside attraction,
some gone, etc. Humor is weird at time.

Anyway, hit first picture link to start at the beginning. some of the pictures
are not in the order I downloaded them.

Again, it is a mixture of many things, as I think it blends in. No, it is the
not the 100% scale layout, but it works.

The RR crossings are from NJI and work on light sensors in the track.

A table skirt is done, for the entire table, tan.

I made everything for the baseball field just about, as the infield is scale,
including the pitching mound, 10 inches scale high.

The lights are hand made from plastic tubing, mini bulbs and AF smoke fluid
funnels.

My first kit was the water tank next to the RR station as making the tank was a
job for me, being my first kit. Three pieces of wood.

The street lights all work, as I do not have a picture of them on. They are
HO Life Like, as they are really close to S. They are pre 1970, as they are
metal arms, tube and plastic base. I did not like anything on the current
market.

Reason for the Plasticville. I just did not see any commercial buildings I
liked. The Barn is plasticville painted, as that was done by Grant Bishop’s
wife. They had no need for it, so they gave it to me. Painted up the Frosty
Bar, as every small town had a place like this and the tollbooth, as I have
great memories of toll booths in the 60s for the NJ Turnpike, Delaware Memorial
Bridge, one span, at the time, and so on. A dying art. Toll booths.

The Industrial area is Tuftsville, named after the late Robert Tufts, who was a
good friend to me as he was one of the premier people in the world of knowledge
on AF.

Track is from Classic Trains. Switches work great, as some said they where a
problem.

Never built a kit till I did this layout.

The wall does have AF trains on it, many rare pieces, as the short wall was
moved back 4.5 feet.

I was suppose to make this layout in 1994 or so, but got involved in buying AF
collectables.

I had a near fatal bike accident in 2007, as I ride my bike every weekend 30
miles since 1990. I hit a pothole, my helmet saved my life. Sooooo, I
realized that life is short, you never know what will happen, build the layout.

Thanks for reading and looking at the pictures, as I know there is allot.

Mike
