Guys:

The photos submitted to the group by Steve Doyle and Mike Marmer beautifully
illustrate the wide range of artistic expression that is possible within this
great hobby of ours.

Both layouts are masterfully executed.

Mike's is a beautifully-presented, Flyer-based creation that blends the old
with
the new, while transporting usback to the days those department store display
layouts that got our juices flowing at Christmas time. Looking beyond the
layout surface, one sees an inviting train room lined with nostalgic displays
of
historic equipment.

Steve's scale layout is a scenic delight that can hold its own against any
layout in any other scale. The big city is impressive, but it's his
artfully-arranged farm scene that really pulls me in. The backdrop looks
great.
Hand-painted still holds a greater appeal for me than photographic.

Congratulations to you both.

It lmakes me think there are good looking layouts out there in our scale to
warrant a soft cover book to highlight them. Something along the lines of
"Great
Model Railroads", only exclusively S-scale.

Jim
