Look into New Zealand Railway modeling. It is S Scale running on HO track. Locos (in kit form) are available and go from small suburban tank locos to those almost like Hudsons, or larger. Beautiful detailing.

Howdy! from the Pacific Northwest I have been bouncing around from HO to On30 to Gn15, and back and forth, wasting a lot of time and $$$. HO is too small looking, and too difficult for me to build kits, or scratch-build. On30 Bachmann is too big for my 17" radius curves, and for my two foot deep shelf layout. I will keep the HO code 83 track in place, which I suppose make me Sn42? I'm "eager" to find sources for structures (kit's?), and cars. Would also like to know what HO mechanisms are used for engines, where to get shells, are they both steam and diesel. etc. Te Latin expression for this is "tabula rasa" which is freely translated as "empty headed", that is "one without much knowledge" I could use a magazine or two, if anyone has any spares.
