Car loads are easy to make. Carve them from pink or blue styrofoam, coat
the visible finish with HO ballast, spray paint them black and away you go.
Black spray paint didn't seem to affect the styrofoam. I have a Pennsy
coal train of about 13 cars with an AM GP35 pulling and an AM FP7 pushing.
I know that's not very correct but there was a spot in Pennsylvania(Trout
Run) on the Elmira Branch where an Alco PA was permanently stationed for
helper duty.
