Bill Lane, the famous SPF'er, writes in the caption for the home page photo:

"The load is the last Mighty New York Central steam locomotive going to the
scrapper."

Gents..

I would like to point out the error in Bill's caption. The load is not
black. Therefore, it could not possibly be a steam locomotive from the
Mighty New York Central. The load is a reddish-brown color, much like that
of PRR diesels and the GG-1. Thus, with these facts in hand, I conclude the
load is rubbish from the never-mighty PRR diesel shops. Those dusty dirty
engines have been pulverized and loaded into that nice looking NYC gondola
for shipment to the Bethlehem Steel Works where Brother Jamie will melt them
down and turn them into Pullman cars for his layout. A good Pullman car is
always deserving of admiration, Jamie claims.

We are approaching Turkey day. Will the conversation this year turn to
poultry cars loaded with HO turkeys instead of S scale chickens. About the
same size, eh? Time will tell..
