To add to Don's comment, the Lionel engine is Hi-rail while Sunset is fully 
scale. Unless your layout is set up to handle both, that distinction will 
probably be the deciding factor. I have seen both models, Iexamined the Lionel 
model briefly yesterday, in fact. It was clearly evident that it had been 
originally tooled as am O gauge engine, as their is a very wide gap between the 
wheels and the centipede tender sideframes.

Much of the Lionel detail is cast-on, not the case with brass model.
