Mark, Understand what you are saying, but why should you, me, or anyone else have to go through this type of treatment, when all of have a card in place to pay for our winning bids. What next, will Ebay / PayPal require us to deposit funds in advance, or perhaps we will have to either submit to a full body X-ray, or "Pat Down"? It is no difference that government, you only get what you will tolerate, or acquiesce to. Bill PS Try going on line, and type in Ebay or PayPal law suits, lots of interesting reading --- On Thu, 11/25/10, Mark Evans <[email protected]> wrote: From: Mark Evans <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Sn3] Ebay / PayPal at it again To: [email protected] Date: Thursday, November 25, 2010, 12:51 PM Bill Noble fight but not too realistic if you want to buy from EBay. PayPal is just about the only way you can use EBay now. It's a brave new world and no reason to not play along. Just adapt to the new world. I had similar concerns...here's how I handled it. I opened a separate checking account that I give PayPal access to. The account is empty at all times unless I buy something. When I need to make a payment I do an online transfer from savings to this checking account. Works well for me. Anyone buying online should have a similar setup. Giving out your primary checking account information to anyone online is asking for it. Ebay / Pay has instituted a policy of requiring buyers that meet a spending threshold of $10K, to be "verified". This "verified" process requires that one either grant eBay / PayPal access to your bank account, or apply for a PayPal Master Card. Granting PayPal or anyone else unlimited access to my bank account is not going to happen in my life time. For those who place items on BUY NOW , unlike bid items, the contact seller option is not possible. From now on I will contact sellers that use PayPal for payment that if they will accept other than PayPal as payment, will bid on their item(s), if not no deal. Don't think that I will be alone in this stance. Hope all had a great Thanksgiving.
