Being "Verified" has nothing to do with granting eBay or Paypal to your bank
account. It is part of the Security issues, so that you prove who you are,
that your are of legal age to enter into a buying/selling contract, as well as
not a terrorist funning money via eBay/Paypal.
It ties in with the new banking rules post-911.
I searched the announcement on eBay and can't find anything "New' relating to
this topic, but for the past few years, emails have circulated saying these
stories.
