I "joined" years ago. 3 months later I got a Nigerian letter addressed to my password name. A word I had NEVER used before. This happened at least 3 times. I've been verified with PayPal for twelve years and find it to be the best way to both pay and be paid. It is especially good for international transactions, as they take care of the currency differential. Sellers get paid immediately. I've done nearly 1000 trades on eBay, about half selling and half buying, and much prefer PayPal to any other method. As for security, you don't give them access to your primary account. This "verified" process requires that one either grant eBay / PayPal access to your bank account, or apply for a PayPal Master Card. For those who place items on BUY NOW , unlike bid items, the contact seller option is not possible.
