I have a reasonable quantity of custom cars and a few cars "that have lost their boxes". The early American Models boxes with completely clear front covers do not last well. A very nice replacement are baseball card storage boxes. A few members on the list here brought this to my attention about a year ago. I have since bought almost 150 of them in varying lengths all from eBay. You can get them long enough for full length passenger cars. I actually asked for a bundle of these boxes <http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370313231080> for Christmas. I would say most freight cars will fit in this size.
