Subject: {S-Scale List} Lawrence Albert Jackman, born 12/11/1931, died 6/9/2009

In addition to unfortunate passing of Jack Riely and Stan Furmanak, I note
today from the Steam Era Freight Car List that another long-time S scale list
member passed some time ago, but was not noted here.

Larry Jackman was not just a list member, he also started S Scale America and
produced the tank car now offered by Des Plaines. Many of Larry's drawings of
freight cars and diesels were printed in the hobby press in the 1960's and
later. If there is interest, I can ask permission to re-post some of the other
information about Larry from the STMFC.

Larry's last post appears to have been in 2008. He is still on our membership
list, and I thought for some time that he was probably gone since we no longer
heard from him. Larry always ended his messages with a humorous signature line,
my favorite was:

"I was born with nothing and
I have most of it left."
