Thanks to all that replied. I am to push gently on the bottom six tabs and the car should come apart. I guess I was expecting screws.
After I posted, I tried to remove one of the trucks by unscrewing one truck. I did not finsh but something came loose. It now lights. The train looks nice. I have AF track (and imitation) forming the loop around the tree. An S-n-S remotored, repainted AF Hudson pulls the train with three AM passenger cars. Truly a real Christmas Tree train. I will have to fix the 'rattle' I created. Thanks again!
