Chris; I used Paasche H airbrushes on all the architectural models for
years. Wore out 2. Still have one. But your point about Iwata is correct, It
is tops. Was better on fine work. A bit tricky with Polly S.
I think I used well over 800 bottles of that.
Have not painted anything in 3 years so don't know what will happen if I do.
At the rate of eye cure models may be no no's.
Sort of planning to dump everything at the moment. (Not to any jokesters though)
Enjoying all the good Christmas music.
Best Holiday wishes. John A

I can't recommend Iwata airbrushes enough. The Rolex of airbrushes. Kind of
new in the modeling world but used for years by commercial artist, custom car
and bike people, etc. Their Revolution CR model is an excellent choice for
modeling and well under $100. Impeccable build quality, very easy to
disassemble, very easy to clean and maintain. The action is very smooth and
offers fine control.

With airbrushing you'll find the tool is probably 30% of the equation and the
user 70%. Preparation of the model and the paint you're going to shoot is key
followed by proper technique. A failure in any one of those aspects and the
world's greatest airbrush isn't going to save the day. Do some reading up on
airbrush technique, learn how to properly thin the paint you are going to use
and then practice, practice, practice.

Don't forget to be safe. Wear a mask and have proper ventilation. Something
like lacquer thinner (commonly used to thin enamel paints and lacquers or clean
the brush) is not what you want to learn a "hard" lesson from. Even non-toxic
acrylics can leave you pretty tight chested and coughing up colors for days.
