If I ever got up to one of the PPSW Thursday night gatherings, the fellows 
there could probably enlighten me, since the kits were
produced in Minneapolis, but I doubt I am going to hazard the drive until after 
spring thaw now.

As noted in the thread on the Ambroid B&M winged Russell-type plow, I picked up 
both the gondola-mounted plow and tool/rail
work car at Duluth.  The instruction sheet mentions no prototypes, so I wonder 
whether these are freelance or based on an actual
prototype?  I infer these were produced about twenty years ago?
