Gentlemen
..
Don Seeburger was an avid S scale enthusiast and Southern Pacific fan. His
interests included Sn3, Canadian railroads, the steam era, transition period
and also some modern diesels such as the SD40-2 and RS-11. His
collection includes the finest PBL Foreground Models, brass imports from
Overland, River Raisin Models, Southwind Models and others. And a good
selection of SHS, AM and PRS models. Dons collection has been accumulating
from the 1980s up to 2010.
Don worked for Chevron as a geologist and spent his professional career
exploring for new deposits of crude oil all over the world. Don and his
family lived in Perth, Australia; Calgary, Canada; Los Angeles, California
and several other locations over the years. As a result of frequent
relocations, Don never had a good opportunity to build a layout. But he
bought train stuff with an eye to the future and having his dream layout
eventually come true.
Eventually, Don settled in the San Francisco area and began construction on
his layout. It got past the benchwork stage, with some mainline track laid,
when health problems struck with a vengeance. Don passed away in the late
Spring of 2010 without seeing his layout becoming fully operational. His
trains are still safely packed away in a dry place awaiting disposition.
Most of the locomotives have never been run. Some have been test run only.
We are convinced some of them were never taken out of the boxes. Most are
MINT or NEW or LIKE NEW. A few engines have obviously been run and are
described accordingly as you will see. Some vintage freight cars, built
decades ago from kits, are way below current quality standards and are
priced accordingly. Bargains do exist for folks who like to repair and/or
upgrade freight cars. Some older plastic freight cars have scuffs,
scratches and missing detail parts and are described appropriately.
Please read the attached list carefully. The entire list will gradually be
posted in sections such as narrow gauge, brass steam, plastic diesel, etc.
Prices shown by each item are NOT the selling prices. They are the normal
retail price. The selling prices, terms/conditions and contact information
are all listed at the end. Purchasing train stuff from a widow is not the
time to haggle over prices. If you want to make an offer below the listed
price, please send an email AFTER March 1, 2011. Until then, the prices are
firm.
Thank you for your consideration. Standard gauge items will follow shortly.
Sincerely
. Edward Loizeaux and Eileen Seeburger
