A reminder that O or 7mm gauge in the UK is 1:43.5 so their trains are  
large, from our perspective, for O.

Hi guys:

A small clarification regarding Des's letter. my earlier suggestion  
was to
re-gauge O scale models, not OO. British prototype trains are smaller  
than
their North American counterparts, and OO (1/76 scale) is smaller than  
S. Thus
in my opinion it would make sense to try to use the larger scale  
because there
would probably be less of a visual disconnect between O scale British  
and S
scale American.
