Gents..
Clearing out the closet and the bottomless attic has yielded yet another
bargain from the past. Here are all the things you will need to make your
existing turntable operate. Also included are some details for cosmetic
purposes. It is all one big batch including the following:
1. Scratchbuilt turntable wooden arch made by Hansel Main many moons
ago.
2. Diamond Scale (DS) Turntable Motor Kit #MK-111
3. Bowser Bridge Detail Kit for a 22" Bowser turntable (soft metal
castings).
4. Large 4" diameter gear with matching worm . Diamond Scale (DS)
#WG-9.
5. DS 3/16" worm shaft.
6. DS #DT-5 Dolly Trucks.
7. DS assorted brackets and pillow blocks (I think that is the correct
term.).
8. DS 3/16" Shaft Collars. Part #SC-1570.
9. DS universal joints (nice!) #US-1 and US-2 (one each).
10. Instruction sheets.
11. Operators shanty (located at end of bridge).
These parts should enable the construction of a handcranked turntable
mechanism or a motorized turntable system. The only thing missing is some
sort of a handle/knob for the end of the shaft closest to your hand if you
choose manual operation. The "human interface" part if you get my drift.
No automatic stopping or positioning ability. The eyeball method works fine
if the pit is close to the edge of the layout. Even if the pit is away from
the edge, a mirror located on the ceiling looking straight down at the pit
will allow good positioning of the bridge. Aligning the bridge track with
the radial tracks is not hard and is similar to aligning fine lines when
focusing a camera. You can do it!
Best offer over $15 plus $9 postage. Heavy weight due to soft metal
castings.
OFFLIST communication only. Onlist responses will be disqualified. Read my
lips !!
First come first serve.
Cheers..Ed L.
