Subject: {S-Scale List} Re: Quality Problems......
Let's turn this argument around and say that we are concerned about
quality issues from our S scale manufacturers because, aside for the
inconvenience and annoyance to the consumer, we are concerned with
their survival. Over the past 18 months we've had a new club member
in this area who has purchased over $3,000 in locomotives from a major
manufacturer. Each and every item received was missing some kind of
part (many times whole sprues), had broken parts or had some
mechanical or wiring defect. Each time the manufacturer had to send a
second shipment of missing or replacement parts. I can't imagine what
all that extra UPS shipping add up to. Probably 6 to 8 extra
shipments plus the extra parts. All preventable with a little QC.
Not a way to stay in business.
