Let me clarify what I said about switches. First, I clearly stated that I did
not speak for the rest of the BOT.
I am very aware of the short comings of Shinnhera switches, and what is
proposed is not a threat to them. I discussed this matter at length with
several scale modelers at the Duluth convention. One group told me that there
was absolutely nothing available in scale in RTR switches in a variety of #'s
and other configurations. Another group told me these very things were
available in wood tie versions. Going back to the first group, I was told Oh
yeah they are but they are too expensive.

Granted, a complet track system in S scale would be great, but do any of you
think that this would be feasible? At best I could see it starting with one
size switch and I guess it would sell for around $40. I don't see S scale ever
growing into the numbers modeling in HO.

But again, this is my take on this.

On to magazines, I am with Roy on this. I don't understand the animosity some
scale guys have for everyone else in the hobby. They seem to be scale
fundamentalists who believe their way is the only true way. Hey guy, its a
hobby. Why is everything in this country getting to be us vs. them. I like
all aspects of trains and modeling and I respect each individuals approach to
the hobby. I belong to a multi-gauge club that includes everything from G to
Z, scale to toy and we all get along fine.
