Yes, but AM makes one slight modification, to get a greater throw of the 
points, I think.

If some of the energy devoted here to "here's what's wrong with every S 
gauger/scaler in the world except thee and me, and sometimes I wonder about 
thee" were diverted to some physical activity, much could be achieved.

For instance, somebody buy 100 switch machines from Atlas, 100 #6 turnouts 
from Mr Morton, and work out a way to attach the machine to the turnout, and 
sell them.
