I spent some time working on the underbody details of my scratchbuilt P70 
coach.  I've posted some photos of my progress to-date in the photos section. 
Though I'm not a purist when it comes to underfloor details, I believe that 
what shows needs to be convincing.  Because heavyweight cars don't have side 
skirts to hide things behind, alot of the under body is exposed.  On the other 
hand, I'm not one to put in a complex maze of piping and details that no one 
will ever see.  Because this is a Pennsy car and the Standard Railroad of the 
World never did anything standard, I ended up scratchbuilding a bunch of 
underbody parts including the belt driven generator, water and air tanks and 
battery boxes.

I have to work on the roof some more, make some diaphrams, and then off to the 
paint shop.
