Good points Dick, but again, who are "them? If they are new modelers, maybe 
self contained powered turnouts are what they want. 

None of the non-S modelers I know and regularly meet use these, but rather use 
the equivalent of Shinohara or Tomalco turnouts and flextrack, with caboose 
industries ground throws or various powered under-table turnout motors.
