All,

I've finally found a couple of shots I did of our main yard throat on
our modules. A few days ago somebody mentioned manual switch throws and
the mechanisms used. So I thought I would show what Jack Troxell built
for the club many years ago. One shot shows the double slip on the
layout's top. The other is the many throws, bell cranks and main drive
rod to make everything work. Everything works with one throw
mechanically while a four position rotary determines the electrical
path. We felt this was better than some electrical unit that might get
damaged routinely.

I recently updated it slightly by adding LED's to varify what track the
rotary is positioned to. Tomorrow night this unit and additional modules
will be loaded in my old Durango for the trip to Stafford Center for the
Greater Houston Model Train Show, where they will run perfectly (fingers
crossed)!

The images are located on my photo album under PhotoTraxx in the photos
section.
