Mike, The car was completed in November of 1948 and I would imagine it started running soon after that. The California Zephyr itself didn't start running until March 20th of 1949, so "Silver Rapids" ran on the Exposition Flyer for a few months. The PRR dropped this car line in 1957, but "Silver Rapids" was seen on PRR trains until the end of the PRR and after that on PC trains as well. Being of stainless steel construction I would imagine it wound up in Amtrak's hands.
