Dear All At a model railway show today, I came across a display of both home and industrial windows etched in brass. The windows are claimed to be sized to 4mm/ft (1/76 - British OO Scale). The windows are from a company called GT Buildings, who have a website: http://www.gtbuildingsmodels.co.uk/index.html If you go the Etches pages, then there are listings of windows (with actual sizes), along with some pages of 'photos' of the windows. I bought the No 91 windows. The window has the lower half etched deeper to represent a two part window. The rear of the etch is flat, so one piece of clear material could cover all the panes. I note from the GT Buildings webpage that they do mail order, but after receiving a cheque. I bought my item from Freestone Model Accessories at the show. Their website is: http://www.freestonemodel.co.uk/index.htm Though the website hasn't been completed, their paper price list says they do mail order, including payments by credit card. They didn't claim to have all the etches in stock, but if available, they can get them. I suspect with both companies you are best advised to contact them by email first. Of course if you are going to the Abingdon Model Railway show next Saturday, then you can get some windows from Freestone without the fuss of postage, etc. The S scale content of this message is that I think many windows might be suitable for American S scale. Of course I could be wrong and accept Bill Lane may put me on moderated status. Your Humble Servant John Prior Swindon, Britain. ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
