I've done basically the same thing (used two wires) with a SWM Niagara. Only difference is; instead of the left track power wire, I connected the chuff pickup wire going to the Tsunami in the tender. In turn, I used the drawbar for left track pickup to the loco, and to insure constant power to the loco decoder, I installed a "stay alive circuit in the engine. The motor decoder is a heavier rated Lenz.....no 1 amp decoder for the Pitman motor! Gary Chudzinski
