If you have access to the Armstrong book look at his recommendations for
minimum radius based on class of equipment desired,for S scale he uses 32 inch
radius as "conventional" which is similar to the equipment you want to run. His
dimension for an S scale #4 switch is approximately 9.5 inches overall, and for
a #5 it's 10.5 inches so probably worth the extra inch to smooth things
out.......dave
