Ed & Rusty,

The Stanton Drive is a powered truck produced by NorthWest Short Line. It can
be used to power smaller track vehicles, such as Trolleys, Interurbans, Cranes,
etc. They can be wired for DC or DCC. Currently, they are sized for HO, but
could be, in some cases, adapted to S, as NWSL can fit them with S size axels
and wheels. However, as you read in Dave's response, he will consider S size
units if the interest is there. If the response is sufficient, perhaps he can
be pursuaded to produce them for a larger, four wheel diesel loco truck. That
is the reason I put the note on this List. I saw someone's comments about the
drives on either this List, or the S Tracton List. Thought it might be
valuable info for some so they express their interest by emailing Dave. Check
out the NWSL website for detailed info. http://www.nwsl.com/ Select:
Motors and Power Drives, then click on The NWSL Stanton Drive
(HO..........etc) Then crosscheck the sizes with your Handy Converter program
to convert to S size. It's helpful to know the proto wheelbase before
converting.

Gary,

What locos would these drives be appropriate for? what is the cost or at least
the cost in HO since currently there is no S-Scale product. Are there any
photos available to look at? I have seem the post on this drive but don't have
any idea what they are!!!

Thanks

Forgot to mention in my previous note that if you have an interest in the
Stanton Drive for S, you might put a bug in Dave's ear!
