The Mighty PRR did whatever it needed to move freight. If that is the first
time you have seen the rubber tired car movers I can assure you the PRR was
not the only 1 that had them.

 

Ironically they had what resembled a ships wheel for steering! That can
almost be seen in some of the photos. 

 

But how would you put DCC in such a small space plus steer it!?!?!

 

The Baltimore docks were so notoriously tight that even the B&O C16
(Docksider) retrieved cars with a chain from coupler to coupler! So the
rubber tired car movers were needed.
