Jim, I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, The point I was making was that
between scale and high rail cars, allthat is needed is the coupler spacer like
the one S-Helper supplys withAll of its cars so the conversion to scale
couplers wheels is simple. I know I've done that to my S-Helper 4-8-0 steamer
even though I still have high rail wheels. I think that is the solution to the
problem. The spacer would go between the car body and bolster and wheel set.
for scale the spacer would not be used, being that it is the same thickness as
the knuckle coupler bolster end.
I hope I cleared things up a little

John may have ruffled a few feathers over the years but ya gotta him credit
where credit is due: he's VERY passionate about certain projects. We can
ALL learn something from his determination. I told him to supply the
drawings and photos to me if he was sincere about this car and that's
exactly what he did. A lot more projects would have come to fruition by now
if more people had such stick-to-it-tiveness. I'm glad he HAS been this
persistent. His hard work may (finally) pay off. Attaboy, JD!
